VISION (Mission)----Focus on Grace |
|
G- Guide R- Reach A-Affirm C-Connect E-Encourage
My vision for children’s ministry at Grace is to GUIDE children and adults in learning about Christ’s love in order to trust Him as their personal Lord and Savior; REACH children and adults by instilling God’s word into their hearts and minds; AFFIRM the uniqueness in every child and adult by helping them to recognize their special gifts; CONNECT the Biblical truths to everyday life for children and adults utilizing developmentally appropriate methods; ENCOURAGE children and adults by providing an environment where they feel welcomed, heard, valued, nurtured, and supported in their walk with Christ.
METHOD (How to accomplish the vision/mission)
1. Offer information, training, recognition, encouragement, and support to all adult volunteers in children’s ministry. 2. Continue my own growth in ministry by networking with other children’s ministers, attending conferences, reading books pertaining to spiritual growth and leadership, and networking with other ministers/leaders at Grace. 3. Select developmentally appropriate curriculum and materials, which will serve as excellent tools to educate the children at each grade level. 4. Ensure that my own spiritual needs are maintained and nourished in order to avoid burnout. 5. Recruit many volunteers of different ages, so that the concept of “it takes a village” can be used to enable members of the congregation to realize that there are many different gifts to be shared with children.
MEASUREMENT (The guide to be used to judge how well things are going.)
1. Listen for feedback and observations from others. 2. Look for living examples that children and adults are internalizing what they are learning.
