Lessons are Bible-based with hands-on activities to help children become involved in learning. Our goal is for the children to grow in the love of Christ and knowledge of the Bible, to learn by discovery, and to have our teachers set an example of a Christian lifestyle.
KID'S SUPER CHURCH
During the 5:30, 9, & 11:00 Services
This ministry is for children ages 4 - 2nd Grade and takes place during all worship services. Children are dismissed to Super-Church for age appropriate music, Bible lesson, and games, and then return at the close of service.
KID'S CLUB & PRE-TEENS
Grace Kid's Club and Pre-teens meet on Wednesdays from 6:15 - 8:00 p.m.
Kid's Club is for children ages 4 through 4th grade
SPROUTS
Sundays at 10 a.m. - Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.
5th & 6th grade is an important time of transition between elementary school and middle school; between being a child and becoming a teenager. Our ministry leaders at Grace Church are committed to helping families in this important transition.
G – Guidechildren in learning about Christ’s love in order to trust Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. R – Reachchildren by instilling God’s word into their hearts and minds.
A– Affirmthe uniqueness in every child by helping them to recognize their special gifts.

SUMMER VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
VBS is for children ages 3- those who completed 4th grade. VBS is an action-packed week with great singing, Bible stories, dramas, fun crafts, and delicious snacks. Watch the church and/or Children's Ministries Newsletter for the dates and times of VBS each summer.

Acolyte Program
Our children gather for a special celebration on a Saturday morning prior to Easter. We have a traditional egg hunt, but our emphasis is placed on special activities to help children understand the true meaning of Easter.
Our children normally present a Children's Musical each spring in our weekend worship services. Watch for more information in our church newsletter, Children's Ministries newsletter, and bulletin.
Children in the 3rd - 6th Grades are able to serve as an acolyte during our 9:00 a.m. Worship Service. They bring in the light of Christ, carry the Word of God, and assist with attendance registration.
Nursery Care:
Grace Church provides supervised nursery care for infants and children up through age 3 on Saturday evening, Sunday morning, Wednesday evening, and for special services. A separate brochure is available with specific information. Diana Rairdon and Lisa Crump are our current staff persons supervising this important ministry.

January Sprouts Outing Sprouts will meet after the 11:00 service on Sunday, January 15. Bring a sack lunch to eat, then we will head out to play laser-tag! Sprouts Sunday School Sprouts have a new home for Sunday school! We now meet on Sunday morning at 10:00 am in 'Classroom One' upstairs in the Schrader Youth Center! Join us there to learn about God's word and how to apply biblical principles to pre-teen life.
First Friday There is no First Friday gathering in January. Have a great Christmas break from school! First Fridays will resume in February.

Kids Against Hunger
Are You HUNGRY to Make a DIFFERENCE? You can, one quarter at a time! Children’s Ministry is excited to announce that Grace Church will be hosting their second Kids Against Hunger event in March of 2012! Last year our efforts raised enough money to pack 58,000 meals! That same food is now being used to feed children under the care of UM Missionary Tom Heaton in Guatemala! $7,000 dollars will send 30,000 meals in support of Tom and the feeding program at Nueva Esperanza! The more we raise the more meals we can send. But wait, it gets better! Our efforts will be combined with the six other United Methodist churches that make our Johnson County Cluster Group. Together we hope to pack over 80,000 meals and ALL the food will be distributed between local food pantries and Tom’s efforts in Guatemala! WE CAN DO THIS!! It only takes one quarter at at time! It all begins with YOU!
We are closing in our our March packing date and I wish to thank you in advance for your support and excitement of this amazing project. To date, we have collecgted $226.00 toward our goal of $10,000. Remember, the more we collect the more food we can pack, the more children we can help! Please keep the quarters coming and if you haven't picked up you M&M tube yet, stop by the Children and Youth Welcome table and get one today! One tube full of quarters provide 80 meals!
Children's Ministries invites you to help our Kids Against Hunger project by participating in a new and easy event, "It's In The Bag". This is an actual Kids Against Hunger food packing bag that is filled with the rice and soy protein mix and then shipped and distributed to children and families in our own communities and around the world. For the next four weeks we are asking individuals and families to give up one (or more) eating out experience each week, and instead, place the money they would have spent going out into the Kids Against Hunger bag. Return the plastic bag on Sunday, January 29 to the collection area at the Children and Youth Welcome Center. You might be surprised how fast this adds up! For example: For the price of a happy meal, you could provide 16 meals. For the price of a Coffee Americano at Starbucks, you can provide 11 meals. For the price of a vanilla diet coke at Benjamin's, you could provide 10 meals.

Kid's Faith Sticks/Drama Team Wonderful Wednesday's Class Wonderful Wednesday classes will begin January 18th! Children in the 3rd through 6th grade are invited to participate in a Wednesday night class in the Schrader Youth Center. The children's drama team will learn faith-sticks routines and dramas to present in worship services and for other groups in the church. Join us to have fun practicing routines and learning dramas to glorify God!
